http://www.rockliffe.com>Rockliffe, which specializes in online messaging services, this week says it has added a valuable anti virus partner to its instant messaging system.
The Campbell, Calif.-based company best known for its MailSite, and Rock-Solid Software says it is partnering with Helsinki, Finland-based F-Secure Anti Virus to add to its customer package.
The IM market is seeing a spike in interest and users, which will make it a popular target for hackers and script kiddies.
F-Secure says its Anti Virus policy-based security includes instant alerts to all devices where information in created, stored or accessed.
"It means that, with one single license fee, service providers and corporations will be able to meet all their messaging and security requirements," says Rockliffe, President and CEO John Davies. "Virus scanning adds to the growing list of MailSite's built-in functionality, including content filtering, Web messaging, wireless messaging, list server, delegated provisioning and fault resilience."
F-Secure Anti Virus scans e-mail attachments at the server level and automatically protects MailSite users against destructive code such as the Nimda worm, the Love Letter bug, and the Anna Kournikova virus.
As part of the anti-virus support, Rockliffe MailSite is expected to maintain up-to-date virus definition files, providing automatic protection from new e-mail threats.
As F-Secure Anti Virus integrates into Rockliffe MailSite 5, the combined solution is capable of detecting and blocking viruses in e-mail attachments before they enter the system.
MailSite also provides sieve content filtering, which allows administrators to automatically block messages that contain spam, pornography, or other offensive content.
